That's the great thing about his whole Youtube channel! It's a whole legacy he left behind for everyone to remember him by in the most positive way imaginable! It's quite unique.

We can only pray that YouTube doesn't decide one day to remove it. They're not known for being the most caring people on the planet. I'd archive it all if I had the facilities but unfortunately I do not. Peter was going to send me DVD's of all his videos but he never did get around to it. They exist, but his family had and has no interest in his YouTube career, they think it was silly and unimportant, they just have no idea.

Hello. Peter was first brought to my attention by the media who told us of Peter's videos on YT. Then I watched all of Peter's videos and continued to watch as he uploaded more. I think I complimented him here and explained his likeness to my father - their quiet understated manner - to which he wrote me a lovely, kind reply. As my work became more demanding, after about I year I began putting Peter's videos in Watch Later. Several years flew by. This week over the last 3 days I have watched ALL of Peter's remaining unwatched YT videos. Before seeing the last uploaded video and after scrolling to comments I was shocked to see 'RIP'. So I was shocked and saddened to see of his passing but I carried on watching ALL of Peter's videos. What a calm, intelligent, eloquent and interesting man Peter was. My father was born in 1929 and also received Navy training on his National Service. In many ways Peter was very like my Dad. After having viewed about 100 of Peter's videos yesterday and about the last 100 today, I feel rather like I've lost a Dad all over again. If there were more men like Peter on this planet, the world would be a better place. My love to his family and close friends.

The world is indeed a much sadder place for his absence, I think about Peter almost every day. Sarah, are you in the UK or the US or elsewhere?

The man was a great, I would even go as far as to say a legend. I wasn't able to watch any of his videos when he was still around but I watched from oldest to newest and just found out yesterday of his passing. I find it sad really. Such a great man he was.
I read the rest of the thread and read that his family thought it was unimportant. Have they really never checked on how many people's lives he has changed?
I do wish that someone, someday will be able to put all his videos in an archive or on a bunch of DVDs just so in the extremely unlikely thing to happen which YouTube goes down, or even the more likely chance of them taking down his channel - so that his stories and knowledge will be here if anybody be able to stumble upon the videos. One day a later generation will find his videos and will learn as much as we learnt from him now.
I wish I could've talked to him, I wish I checked out his channel last year when I heard of the oldest youtuber ever but decided not to due to a funny video. I wish I hadn't put his videos to 'Watch Later'
But nonetheless Michael, you were lucky to have known him. Pass on my late condolences to his family, if you're able to, and condolences to you as well.

I have been a fan of Peter since 2008 and I think the idea to create a forum about him is a great idea. I hope many people will come to the forums and make posts. Hopefully word will spread and you can have more members signing up! I still check the website regularly to see any new posts. Once again, a great idea and I hope this becomes popular.

I'm in the UK Michael - Teesside. I've said that Peter reminded me of my Dad. One thing I always tried to get my Dad to do was go online - not necessarily to YouTube but maybe communicate via webcam each morning. Nowadays I would try to do iPhone Facetime with him if he were still with us. He did get broadband with his telly service but never once used the email service which came with it. He didn't want to get involved with the internet and that saddened me a little. I always thought Peter was great for embracing new technology and using it to tell history in such an interesting way and wanted my Dad to do likewise.
